1. Who We Are (The Controller)

Transparency starts here. We don’t hide behind a brand name; we are real people protecting your data.

This website and the services provided by Algarve Pictures are operated by:

2. What We Collect & Why (Legal Basis)

We only collect what we need to deliver stunning photos and a seamless experience. We never collect data just for the sake of it.

Note on AI: We do not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make automated decisions about you or to profile you without human intervention.


3. How We Share Your Data

We are selective about who we invite into our circle. We only share data with trusted partners who help us run this business:

  • Service Providers (Processors):

    • Photographers/Videographers: Freelancers we hire to shoot your session. They are strictly contractually bound to delete your raw data after delivery.

    • Pic-Time: To deliver your final beautiful gallery.

    • Google (Gmail/Workspace): For email communication and file storage.

    • Facebook/Meta: If you interact with our ads or social pages.

    • Accountants/Tax Authority: To comply with Portuguese tax law.


4. International Transfers (The “Travel Plans”)

Some of our partners (like Google and Pic-Time) are located in the United States. In 2026, we ensure your data travels safely.

We transfer data to the US relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). This means these companies guarantee a level of protection for your data that is equivalent to European standards.


5. How Long We Keep It (Retention)

We don’t hoard your history. We keep data only as long as the relationship lasts or the law requires:

  • Booking/Invoice Data: 10 Years (Required by Portuguese Tax Law).

  • Raw Photos/Footage: 2 years after delivery (to allow for edits/recovery), then deleted.

  • Delivered Gallery: 1 Year  (Available via Pic-Time), unless requested otherwise.

  • Comments: 3 Years from the date of posting.

  • Marketing List: Until you click “Unsubscribe” (which you can do anytime).


6. Your Rights (The Power is Yours)

You are in control. Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  1. Access: Ask for a copy of everything we know about you.

  2. Rectify: Fix any mistakes in your info.

  3. Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): Ask us to delete your data (unless we need it for tax purposes).

  4. Portability: Ask for your data in a readable format to take elsewhere.

  5. Withdraw Consent: Stop marketing emails instantly.

How to Exercise Rights: Email us at privacy@algarvepictures.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Right to Complain: If you feel we haven’t treated your data with respect, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese regulator:
